In controlling vectors, the product, method and tool are three important elements that are influential on the outcome directly. That the tools to be used for mass-control meet the standards recommended by the World Health Organization will affect the success ratio positively.

One of the most important criteria in ULV practices is the droplet size produced by the tool. Even though the most agreeable value for the droplet size is known to range between 20 and 28 microns, it cannot be said that it is exactly the case.

In the light of a number of scientific research, droplet size varies according to the type in case of fight against Culex, Aedes, Anopheles ve Musca spp species. World Health Organization (WHO) sources announced that agreeable droplet size for the cited species ranged between 14 and 27 microns.

Besides, tools and equipment that produce different size of droplets in different temperatures should be preferred. In high temperature, small particles vaporize very early and do not give the intended result. For this reason, upper limit of the droplet range specific to the species should be applied in high temperatures.
